God's Blessing

Good Health and Strength: Although Daniel and his three friends only ate veggies and drank water to keep themselves undefiled, God granted them good health and strength, “And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king’s meat” (Dan 1:15). This does not mean that we ignore the needs of our body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit, but whatever we eat or drink, watch or read, speak or do, we do all according to God’s Word and for God’s glory, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Cor 12:9).

Wisdom and Understanding: God is the Source of all wisdom and understanding. If you and I fear God and keep ourselves separated unto the Lord from sins, defilement, unbelief, and worldliness, God is pleased to grant us His wisdom and understanding, ”As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams... And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm” (Dan 1:17). Truly, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding” (Prov 9:10).

God’s Deliverance: When Daniel and his three friends determined to be faithful to the Lord unto death, God did deliver them according to His good purpose and timing. The pre-incarnate Christ was with the three friends in the burning fiery furnace and they were not hurt at all. Daniel was also protected by God’s angel and was not hurt by the lions. Dear friends, when we suffer persecutions for Christ and are faithful to our Lord unto death, we shall experience God’s deliverance, either from this cursed and sinful world to be with Him in Heaven or from the wicked to continue serving Him on earth.

Promotion: God’s Word confirms, “For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another” (Ps 75:6-7). Daniel and his three friends kept themselves separated and faithful to the Lord, so they were promoted, and God was exalted and glorified (Dan 3:47-49; 3:28-30; 6:25-28). Do you want to be promoted? Please remember that promotion comes from the Lord.
