By Faith, Noah…

Scripture Text: Heb 11: 7

1. Our Christian life ought to be lived in faith and the motivation to do it is that it pleases God. In our prayer and singing, we must always do it in simple faith to the Lord.

2. Noah lived in the age where men were exceedingly sinful as recorded in Gen 6:1-12. God declared His judgment that He would destroy the world by a global flood. Noah was moved with fear in knowing this judgment though there was no rain that has ever fallen at that time.

3. The evidence that Noah trusted is the words that God has spoken. This is true faith in trusting what God said. In demonstration of his faith in the Lord, Noah obeyed the Lord to build the ark as God commanded him.

4. Noah’s faith was tested as the people ridiculed him for 120 years while he built the ark and he waited for the Word of God to come to pass with the flood judgment.

5. In Noah’s act of obedience and faith to the Lord, he “condemned the world”. Sinners who refused to repent and scoff at Noah were judged by the Lord eventually. Noah’s faith was rewarded as he became heir of righteousness, His faith in the Lord has saved him.
