Victory by Jesus’ Blood

Acknowledge Our Weakness: The Lord knows our weakness more than we do, “without me, ye can do nothing” (John 15:5), and “Wherefore, let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall” (1 Cor 10:12). We must be humble, watchful and prayerful, “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak” (Matt 26:41).

Resist Satan with the Whole Armour of God: Adam and Eve failed to resist Satan with God’s Word and prayer, so they were defeated. Jesus Christ resisted Satan with God’s Word and prayer until he fled away. You and I are to “submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7) and “be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” (Eph 6:10). Satan is scared when we kneel down and pray to the Lord, “When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me” (Ps 56:9) and when we cite the very Word of God as the Lord Jesus did, “the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one” (1 John 2:14).

Overcome Satan by Jesus Christ and His Precious Blood: Our Lord Jesus was tempted in all points as we are, yet without sin, so He can “be touched with the feeling of our infirmities” (Heb 4:15) and be “able to succour (help) them that are tempted” (Heb 2:18). Satan desired to sift Peter as wheat, but Jesus prayed for Peter so that his faith did not fail (Luke 22:31-32). We must be thankful to the Lord that He came to “destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8), and He is ever living to pray for us so that we may stand firm until now. Satan is only scared of Jesus and His precious blood (Rev 12:11). Let us wisely hide ourselves in the Lord and His precious blood.

Overcome Satan by the Word of Our Testimony unto Death: When the seven sons of Sceva tried casting out evil spirits in Jesus’ name, saying, “We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth” (Acts 19:13), but the evil spirit said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?” (v 15), and then the evil spirit overcame them and prevailed against them (v 16). Satan knows Jesus and God’s true servants and children. What about you and me? We can overcome Satan not only by Jesus’ blood and God’s Word and but also by the word of our personal testimony and conviction that Jesus Christ is our own personal Saviour and Redeemer, that God’s Word is our Truth and the Sword of the Holy Spirit, that we have been purchased by His precious Blood, and that we willingly follow Jesus and His Word unto death (Rev 12:11).
