Human love is very selfish, limited and changeable, so a heart with holy love must come from the Creator, even the loving and holy God. Many blame God for all the evils and sufferings in this world and conclude that there is no loving God, while many others abuse God’s love and enjoy living in sins, thinking that because God is loving and kind, He will not punish anyone in Hell. Dear friends, God is really loving and kind but He is also holy, righteous and never ignores sins; consequently, sinners will be punished for ever in Hell. However, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Truly, God manifested His love to mankind when the Lord Jesus Christ humbled Himself to be a man, died to bear the sins of mankind including yours and mine, and He rose again to save those who repent of their sins and receive Him as their Saviour. Therefore, those who reject the Saviour Jesus reject God’s love for them and surely they cannot escape His wrath, “He that believeth on the Son (the Lord Jesus) hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” (John 3:36).
God truly loves you and me, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom 5:8) and “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him” (1 John 4:9).
