True Prophets or False Prophets?

God has warned His people to beware of false prophets both in the Old Testament (Deut 13:1-5; 18:20-22) and in the New Testament, even from the Lord Jesus Christ and His apostles, Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits (Matt 7:16) and many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many” (Matt 24:11), and “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world” (1 John 4:1). Then, what does the Lord Jesus command you and me to do? (1) “Beware of” or be cautious about false prophets (Matt 7:15). They may come in sheep’s clothing, and outwardly they look very nice, gentle, polite; harmless, and “scholarly” even like “an angel of light” (2 Cor 11:14), but they are not born again, called or sent by God, so with the human sinful, corrupt and rebellious nature, they would do much harm like “ravening wolves”; therefore, you and I must be cautious; (2) “Know them by their fruits” although they may come in Jesus Christ’s name and perform many miracles. This sharp discernment requires you and me to be mature in the Lord, in His Word and in His Truth. Many are deceived and misled due to their spiritual immaturity, but God wants you and me to be mature, “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect (mature) man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive” (Eph 4:13-14). Then what fruits can you and I discern between true and false prophets, pastors, preachers, or teachers in these last days?
